וַיֹּ֙סֶף֙ אַף־יְהוָ֔ה לַחֲר֖וֹת בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֨סֶת אֶת־דָּוִ֤ד בָּהֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֵ֛ךְ מְנֵ֥ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְאֶת־יְהוּדָֽה׃
און דער צאָרן פֿון גאָט האָט װידער געגרימט אױף ישׂראל, און ער האָט אָנגערעדט דָוִדן אַקעגן זײ, אַזױ צו זאָגן: גײ צײל איבער ישׂראל און יהוּדה.

“When you take the count of the B’nei Yisrael to determine their numbers, each man shall give an atonement pledge for his soul to Adonoy, when you count them. Thus there will be no plague among them when you count them.
